OVYSL is divided into three general
divisions of play, each of which has as its primary purpose, soccer sportsmanship,
education, and play. As a player moves up the competitive ladder, the child's,
parent's, and coach's commitment of time and effort to the sport increases.

Division IV
(Recreation or In-House)
-
Division IV - In addition to being an introduction to soccer and having fun,
the purpose of Division IV is to prepare the player to advance to Division III
(competition) and/or Division I (select).

- Division III (Competitive)
- The purpose of Division III is to further develop players skills and knowledge
of the game in preparation to advancement to Division I..
It is designed for players who have good soccer and/or athletic skills and an
interest in improving and developing their soccer skills. Division III teams play in the
District II Delgado Division III Playing League (C3PL).

- Division I (Select)
- The purpose of Division I is to finely tune and hone a player's skills to
prepare them for advancement to the Olympic Development Program and beyond
should they choose to do so. They have a strong commitment
to the sport and are dedicated to mastering the game. They travel for league
and tournament games. Class I teams play in the
District
II Abronzino Division I League.
